Vision and Security Lab (VAST Lab), under supervision of Dr. Terrance E. Boult, University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS).

  • Awarded a full scholarship to pursue a PhD under Dr. Terrance E. Boult after excelling in master's thesis.
  • Conducted three years of research in AI, Machine Learning (ML), and Computer Vision (CV), focusing on novelty problems as a part of the SAIL-ON program (DARPA).
  • Developed an open-world, person re-identification framework, and image classification methods for novelty, collaborating with multi-institutions including Kitware Inc., University of Maryland, and University of Notre Dame.
  • Developed novel theoretical frameworks for image classification in open-world settings and built a benchmark dataset for the SVO problem with more than 1.5 million images, leading to a publication as a chapter in a book in Springer Nature Switzerland.

  • Delivered lectures, guided student research projects, and supported coursework in AI, ML, and CV.

  • Administered and maintained the department's GPU servers used for high-level classes and faculty research labs in AI, ML, and ANNs.

Supervised and mentored undergraduate students from various universities who were accepted into the summer REU internship program at UCCS. These students worked on research projects involving AI, ML, CV, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Open World Learning, and Software Engineering.

  • Led engineering teams in deploying VSAT and microwave communication systems, installing 185 VSAT units across military bases.
  • Provided internet services for oil companies including ExxonMobil, Marathon, Shell, and BP.
  • Gained expertise in TDMA/SCPC links, F-SONA laser systems, and wireless modem ASICs.
  • Collaborated with Siemens on a synchronization project that improved cellular service by 6%.
